			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Vinyl India 2011 conference which was held last week in Bombay, was extremely well attended and most of the presentations were of a very high standard. The underlying theme was on PVC, machinery &#038; additives for PVC.<br />
70% of India&#8217;s PVC consumption is pipes. O-PVC stands out as a tremendous opportunity in rigid pipes and Mr. Ingnacio Munoz&#8217;s talk on O-PVC was extremely informative. Improvement in mechanical properties with a reduction in cost is what O-PVC pipes are all about and we are sure that these pipes will make an appearance in India very soon.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The recently concluded K exhibition in Dusseldorf saw a large number of PVC processors from India who visited our partners stand i.e. Chemson, Molecor, Akcros &#038; Ankerpoort. The current state of the art technology was on display and we are sure that the Indian PVC processing industry will hugely benefit from being learning the same. </p>
<p>The trend towards elimination of heavy metals in applications like PVC cables has seriously begun and we have a complete portfolio of Calcium/Zinc stabilizers covering the entire temperature spectrum and which meets all the required specifications. The same is true for PVC pipes where a good start has been made with PVC plumbing pipes. To ensure a proper strategy for heavy metal reduction/elimination, Reliance has set up a committee for various PVC additives like plasticizers, heat stabilizers etc. A.L.A. Chemicals will play a prominent role in the same. </p>
<p>We are delighted to inform all of our customers that all departments of our company have been successfully certified for ISO 9001:2008. </p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">PVC  is essentially an amorphous polymer in which the molecules are  located  randomly. However, under certain conditions of pressure,  temperature and  speed, and by stretching the material, it is possible  to orient the  polymer molecules in the same direction as which the  material has been  stretched <em>(see figure 3). </em>Depending  on the  process parameters used and mostly stretch ratio, a higher or  lower  orientation degree will be obtained. The result is a plastic with a   layered structure which layers can be seen at a glance <em>(refer figure 1).</em></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Also  PVC-O pipes offer a bigger hydraulic capacity, minimum loss of pressure  and a significant reduction in wall thickness and therefore weight,  which means transportation and installation savings. All these  improvements are made with lower raw material consumption for the same  requirement of pipe, resulting in a significant cost reduction.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">In  terms of performance, PVC-O’s shows a very different stress-strain   curve when compared conventional plastics and comes very close to the   curve of metals<em> (see figure 4).</em></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">PVC-O  pipes are the MOST ECOLOGICAL and environmental friendly  solution for  water transportation according to “Estimation of energy  consumption and  CO<sub>2 </sub>emissions  due to production, usage, and  final usage of PVC, HDPE, PP, CAST IRON  and CONCRETE PIPES” Department  of Engineering Projects, UNIVERSITAT  POLITECNICA DE CATALUNYA  (Barcelona, December 2005). This report shows  the CO emissions and  energy consumption due to raw material production,  pipe manufacturing,  usage and usage life of pipes for water  transportation comparing PVC-O,  PVC-U, PE and CAST IRON pipes. PVC-O  pipes should be the best choice  for water transportation (<em>see figure 5</em>).</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-size: small;">Molecor has developed its own technology to manufacture PVC-O pipes. It is a completely new system (<em>see figure 6</em>) that puts together the best features of what there was till now: In batch system and In line system. Molecor System is an In batch system that has been improved in such a way that is able to absorb the production of an extruder working in line with it. Molecor system has all the advantages of an In batch system, stability, high orientation degree, wide range of products (diameter and pressure), easy to work with, etc, and also has the advantages of the In line system, layout compatibility and efficiency. </span></span></p>
